Emily and Bryce’s Vermont Wedding at the Mansfield Barn in Jericho, Vermont
Every year since Emily and Bryce started dating, they have taken a sunset sail out of Marblehead, Massachusetts. Last year Bryce decided to use their annual sailing excursion as an opportunity to ask Emily to marry him. Emily recalls the moment —
Just as the sail was starting to come to an end (literally at sunset!!) Bryce asked me to take a picture, so we stood up and our captain was taking pictures, and all of a sudden Bryce dropped to a knee and asked me to spend forever with him! It was the best day!!
Emily and Bryce now live in Boston with their golden retriever, Maple. Emily is a nurse at Dana Farber Cancer Institute and Bryce works for a data management and analytics firm in the city. In their free time they love to travel, play with their dog, Maple, hang out with friends, drink craft beer, and explore new places to eat.
Emily grew up in Northern Vermont and Bryce attended Castleton University, so of course they decided to plan a summer Vermont Wedding at the Mansfield Barn right at the base of Mount Mansfield. The Mansfield Barn is an historic, post and beam Vermont Wedding Barn originally built in the 1800s.
As the day drew near, Emily described her vision for their perfect Vermont wedding —
If nothing else, I want the vibe to be relaxed, yet fun. We are getting married at a barn, so I want it to have a rustic feel, but it's certainly not ballroom formal. I want to make as much time as possible for people to dance/ drink and have a blast. I want to remember this as the best day of our lives, celebrating with all of our closest friends and family! Years down the road I want people to remember how much fun they had at the wedding and I want people to still be talking about it.
I love a rustic Vermont wedding and the Mansfield Barn gave these two an elegant Vermont Wedding Venue for some unforgettable barn stompin’ fun. Really, they had some wild friends who were literally stomping and slapping their knees on the dance floor.
I chose to drive home over the notch that night, so I could see the last bits of light disappear from the sky as I reflected on what was truly a perfect day.
Thank you Emily and Bryce for choosing me to document the start of this new adventure together. I wish you a lifetime of love, adventure, and happiness!
