Sharon and Dylan’s Berkshire County Wedding Somewhere in the Middle of the Woods
Sharon and Dylan are from Boston but wanted to bring all of their city dwelling friends out to experience a piece of paradise on Dylan’s family land in Great Barrington.
No service, no electricity, no address.
I’m not lying when I say I was given coordinates to find this one.
Luckily, they hired an incredible planner, Shannon from Aligned Events, who revealed to all of us that she is superhuman and can organize wooded festivals as well as weddings.
Together, Shannon helped them map out the land, designate a section of woods for sleeping tents to be pitched, rolled in some portable bathrooms and secured generators for their tented kitchen. The wonderful team at Mahaiwe Tents put up the grandest canopy for their reception.
Sharon and Dylan also decided that they would make all of their own wedding food. For days leading up to their wedding, the couple spent all of their time prepping food and getting it ready for their crew of caterers (friends of the couple) to finish assembling and serve.
There were oysters and rice balls and charcuterie boards and butternut squash soup and lasagne and so many other amazing things to eat that it was hard to believe that the couple even slept for a minute during these long days of food prep.
Sharon and Dylan were keen on throwing a great party for their family and friends at this meaningful spot and were looking for a photographer to capture the genuine moments as they unfolded.
I was glad to be the one they chose.
