Laura and Anthony spent their day in many of the scenic corners StoneHurst has to offer, including the barn with exposed beams and elegant lighting. The fall foliage and the rustic chic elements of this wedding were charming.

A different kind of car salesman

Anthony and Laura grew up in the same neighborhood. They started dating in high school and were lucky enough to call one another prom dates.

When it came time to go to college, they split up, but never forgot about one another. Their journey follows a typical, romantic storyline until you get to the car dealership part.

Anthony owns a car dealership and one day, Laura, likely feeling a bit hopeful, decided to go to him to buy a new car. It wasn't long before they started dating again!

Laura is an ER nurse and Anthony continues to run his car dealership. Laura’s bubbly and organized personality contrasts from Anthony’s more reserved and stoic tendencies. It's clear that they both are committed to their careers and support one another's goals.

Hugs & Surprises

Anthony and Laura love surprises and their engagement started with one of the best surprises of all. Anthony surprised Laura while on a trip to Florida with a proposal overlooking the water. He even hired a professional photographer to document the event!

It's not unusual for me to receive hugs from a bride and groom at the end of a wedding. Anthony and Laura, however, are the kind of couple that are not afraid to stop in the middle of portrait time to give out some hugs to their vendors. They really are one of the sweetest couples I've ever worked with!

Heartfelt Wedding Details

Special heartfelt details dominated their wedding day.

They read private vows to one another before the ceremony, Anthony wrote a little note on the bottom of Laura’s shoes, Laura had their wedding date sewn into her sneakers and Anthony had the same date sewn into the inside of his jacket.

In addition, Anthony and Laura’s high school friend served as their wedding officiant, sweetly surprising everyone.

Stonehurst at Hampton Valley

The reception was filled with dancing, toasts and fun by the outdoor fire pit.

This wedding was so stunning, and I have to say that Laura and Anthony pulled together a rockstar list of vendors. StoneHurst at Hampton Valley was an incredible venue with many photogenic spaces including the reception hall, the restored barn with exposed beams and ductwork, a tree-lined ceremony site and many locations to choose from for portrait hour.

Sarah from Stonehurst kept the day so organized and the decor was so elegant that my job felt easier than usual. I was able to focus on getting the shots I needed with Sarah ensuring that the day moved along seamlessly. David from Epic Filmmakers and his second videographer were great to work with. The flowers, dresses and suits all looked sharp as well.

Although such a team of vendors is not needed for a wedding, it often makes a difference and in this case, it was noticeable.
