Ashley + Steven’s Worcester City Hall Elopement

You know how the internet is packed with advice for folks getting married?

Here’s the thing: there are no rules for this.

Read that again.

If you want to get married, there are absolutely no rules. You can do it however you want, whenever you want, wherever you want.

It’s your day, and nothing bad is going to happen if you do things your way. The wedding police are not going to show up and arrest you for not doing the bouquet toss.

Ashley and Steven decided to pass on the big traditional wedding and elope at Worcester City Hall.

This place is all old-school charming with these grand columns and intricate stonework. You walk in and feel like you’re in some scene from a historic drama.

Inside, it’s quiet. The building has seen so many love stories that it’s just like, “Ah, another one? Cool, cool.”

I’m watching Ashley and Steven, who find this super nice city clerk who’s been chatting with a parade of couples all day, helping them get marriage licenses and figure out how to elope at Worcester City Hall.

They’re hanging out on this bench, and suddenly, a clerk who announces himself as the officiant steps out from behind the glass and says the ceremony will take place in the Vestibule.

If you are someone who regularly visits a Vestibule or conducts important meetings in them, I would like to know if they are real outside of New England or if they are reserved for city hall elopements and secret librarian meetups. (Please reach out via my contact page with any information)

They say their “I do’s” in the Vestibule at Worcester City Hall, and then, instead of heading to some fancy reception, they go to this cozy café down the street where they had their first date.

How perfect is that?

Witnessing Ashley and Steven do things their way convinced me that eloping at Worcester City Hall is the best spontaneous decision ever.

No rules, no stress, just love.
