Colin and Rachel’s quonquont farm wedding
Colin and Rachel are Umass Amherst grads living in Boston who felt strongly about being married close to where they fell in love. They chose Quonquont Farm in Whately, Massachusetts, just a short drive from campus.
They booked me for their wedding when the pandemic seemed to be at its worst. We chatted and connected over zoom and all felt hopeful that things would calm down in time for their event. As you probably guessed, it was a wild ride of emotion getting to their date. With just enough time to get their official invite list out, the mask mandate was announced to be lifted in Massachusetts.
I know they had many guests lists ready to share — the paired down, social distanced list, the mid range “not spiking pandemic, maybe the weather will be nice and we can be outside” list, and the full on let’s party list.
With the vaccines doing their thing and the cases dropping so suddenly, this wedding felt like such a release after being in such limbo all year.
Weddings at Quonquont Farm are always a treat. The grounds include many staples of western Mass life. There are apple orchards, silos, pollinator gardens, big red barns, blueberry fields, and ponds to explore. They even have a resident beaver.
It was such a joy to work with Colin and Rachel and in some strange way, a joy to navigate the ups and downs of what was no doubt a wild year together.
Congrats to these two beautiful humans and thank you for sharing such an incredible day with me. Hope to see you both again soon!
