Mountain biking, skiing, hiking — this is how these two Vermonters move through the world.

Last August, Katie and Bradley invited me to one of their favorite off-the-grid spots in the Green Mountains of Vermont to celebrate their engagement.

We wandered through wildflower meadows, took in sweeping mountain views, and watched the sun set into the horizon.

There was not another person in sight.

The perfect goodbye to summer.

This summer, they’ll be married at Lake Bomoseen Lodge, trading mountain trails for the water’s edge.
